Little Trip to Jogjakarta
On 15 December 2008, Me and my brother? when on a trip to visit the Jogjakarta. Originally, it was planned that the trip will be on the 25 December which is the Christmas day. On the 25th my family are also planning a trip to “The town of flower” Bandung, which is West Java region. I have to choose either to go on a trip to the Bandung or to Jogjakarta. So i choose Jogjakarta. In the end, the trip to Jogjakarta are brought forward to the 15th December over some technical problems that cannot be evaded.
Around 10.30am, we resuming our journey to Jogjakarta. From Semarang to Jogjakarta takes around 3 hours? which is about 200 km. We arrived at Jogjakarta at 1pm. We take a Hotel Mutiara Malioboro. It is a three star hotel placed strategically and welcomes guests with attentive hospitality. Location Located on the vibrant Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta, Hotel Mutiara Malioboro is a place of elegance and warmth. The hotel staff are very helpful and will help you book excursions. Ask at reception. Breakfast is good and caters for european tastes and local. The location is excellent. The swimming pool is not very inviting. so we decide to stay there and it’s comfortable cheap hotel just Rp 611,086 /net.
If we had to go to Bandung, Arion Swiss Belhotel Bandung is our fist choice. here You just spent Rp 666,639/net.very recommended for you who would like to stay for a long time. But make sure you ask for the room that are not facing the construction site as they are renovating the other side of the hotel. For foreigner, a bit to far to walk downtown, you better get a cab but make sure get bluebird taxi otherwise negotiable the price with the driver first. If you are traveling more than 2 persons I recomended you rent a car per day as it is cheaper than taxi.? Just to Inform you, If You on vacations, and need someone to guiding you to find a hotel you can ask hotelscombined.com . That’s Me and my brother do..
OK back to Jogja, Fikry (my brothers name) and I spent a good couple of hours around today, first through the streets and back lanes of Sosrowijayan and then down Jalan Malioboro, Jogjakarta?s main shopping street. Malioboro is one of the best streets I?ve ever known, although it?s fairly useless as a transportation artery. The west side of the street is a wall of narrow shop fronts, mostly containing small businesses retailing all of the bricabrac and what have you of everyday Indonesian life. Immediately to the east of the shop fronts is a narrow channel of pedestrian traffic, crammed with people shopping and walking, but not getting anywhere particularly quickly.
On the 16th December, we ended our Little trip. Its Good enought for take some rest from super duper boring day. I wish to come back to Jogja Next month. It have been my favorite Town.
